The under-painting was loosely painted in acrylics, with orange used under the white blouse to give warmth and a feeling of skin showing through. The painting was then completed in oils, with lots of loose strokes to make the movement and feeling of sound as the guitarist strums the guitar. The title lent itself because of the shades of blue in the painting as much as the musical implication.
