The swish of the mermaids tail propels her out of the deep blue depths of the ocean up to the sunlight above. Her tail a golden blur in the froth of water swirling around her. This painting utilised the pour on paint to good effect creating the illusion of movement of the body through the water and the use of gold paint hints at the shimmer of her fishy scales, as they catch the light.
