Eleven faces in the clouds. Some stare back at the viewer, others are lost in their own thoughts. The paleness of the faces against the black background creates a strong contrast.  The tempest gathers and the force of humanity merges with the storm clouds. An ambiguous image of their calm enigmatic faces against the raging of the clouds around them.  Their tranquillity contrasts with the black forces of nature creating a surreal dream like quality. The spectator’s imagination and point of view decides the meaning in their being.  And all will be so different in context.  There is no definitive answer. It’s a purposely ambiguous fantasy painting to be viewed on a personal level.
