The back view of a woman is always a sexy sight, for many reasons. And one that I’ve wanted to paint in oils for a long time.  There’s something very sensual about the back view of a naked woman - the curve of her back, rounded orbs of her buttocks, and the full breast in silhouette. And oils is the perfect medium for painting such a sensual subject as the paint can be blended to show the subtle skin colour and tone. In this painting the nipple is painted in fine detail, showing that it’s aching to be caressed. I love the line down her spine and particularly the soft shadow at the top of the crack of her bum. Her buttocks are round and inviting, and I ADORE the lost and found edges of her right arm, the way it merges in the soft light of the background and disappears behind that gorgeous curve of her back. Her fingers can just be seen under her hair as she runs her fingers appealingly through it. There are subtle and fine splatters of white paint around the area of her bottom, her hair, and her right arm, so that the viewer is aware of small movements there. She’s just shifting slightly on her legs, which has moved her buttocks a bit, so then you think well, what’s that right hand doing, the one you can’t see fully, what’s she up to? And is that why she's moved her bum, shifting her weight on her folded legs.....is that ......why................?

And the title summing up a woman in such a voluptuous temptress pose is "Naked desire" which is purposely ambiguous as to who has it and for whom!
