Chloe knows she’s the prettiest cat in the world, and was happy to pose whilst her photograph was taken for the basis of this painting. But her patience is running out – hence the flick of her tail, before she disappears down the garden path. This painting was created by masking off the outline of the cat, and the details of the flowers, then very careful application of poured-on paint in the background to produce the foliage. Details were picked out after the paint had dried. The cat’s eyes are purposely painted in the same green gold as the leaves behind her to give a feeling of unity.
